Summer is one of the best times of the year to cook. There are so many flavors available and the seasons for local produce change quickly. Usually the produce season ends before you have time to get tired of anything. Dewberries (local blackberries) are already gone, and peaches only have a week or two left in their season. Cantaloupes will be coming up next, along with watermelons and pears. Tomatoes will be in abundance all summer long, so look for recipes for cold gazpacho soup or margherita pizza, or just drizzle tomato slices with a little olive oil and basalmic vinegar and serve with soft mozzarella cheese and fresh basil. Happy summer cooking!
