English Peas

My mom and grandmother only served  Le Seur small and early English peas found in the trademark silver can.  Imagine my surprise to learn the larger and brighter green peas served at my in-laws came from a frozen package!

  • 1 small package frozen green peas
  • 1 Tablespoon water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 teaspoons butter or olive oil

Remove frozen peas from package an place  in a microwave-safe bowl with a cover.  Add the water and cover.  Microwave on high for 5 minutes.  Remove, carefully crack the cover to allow steam to escape and add the salt, pepper, and butter or olive oil.  Serve immediately.
