Tomato Basil Soup

Cut out the cream for a healthier and hearty tomato soup.

  • 1 large can (14-16 oz) Italian-style stewed tomatoes
  • 1 large can (14-16 oz) diced Italian-style tomatoes
  • 1 large can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons Garden Gourmet basil paste
  • 1 teaspoon salt, optional

Combine all ingredients in a food processor and blend until the consistency is smooth.  Heat over medium high heat until the soup begins to bubble.  Serve warm.  Add slivers of fresh basil leaves, sprinkled over the top of the soup just prior to serving to impress your guests!

Because all the ingredients in this soup are canned or previously processed, it can be made ahead and refrigerated for up to one week, or frozen for up to one month.
