The Wiess Cooks! classes are back. Even though there are some holiday conflicts, we’re planning these classes for fall and spring. Send your suggestions for future themes and menus to carlyn@.
Classes are taught on Saturdays from 1-3pm; bring $3 to cover the cost of your ingredients.
Watch the Wiess mailing list for your opportunity to sign up for a class; they fill up fast, so RSVP as soon as you see the announcement!

- November 13 – Just Chocolate: cookies, cake, pie, fudge, ice cream, hot chocolate, and chocolate-covered caramel apples
- November 20 – Guys’ Class* – Cooking for Carnivores, hosted by Nick Hoeft. New – MD Anderson Oncologist Dr. John Patlan will drop by to talk about juggling a career and cooking for his family of four (he is the primary cook for his wife and two teens, one of whom eats vegetarian).

- April 24 – Impress your Date Dishes
*There are no gender restrictions on the guys’ and girls’ cooking classes, only the menus are affected. I chose hearty meals that men typically love to eat and cook for the fall class and for the spring class, I selected appetizers, beverages and desserts that women typically serve at bridal luncheons and showers, baby showers, brunches and teas.
Yom Kippur fasting is still on-going when we have the Breakfast for Supper class. So sorry! If you want to try some of the breakfast recipes in January, I can add an extra class on the Saturday of MLK weekend. Email Laura Barg-Walkow if you are interested in a repeat of this class on January 15, 2011.
