A tremendous amount of rain resulted in Houston-area flooding at the end of Memorial Day weekend in 2015. Our home was unscathed, and one pleasant outcome was the abundant blackberry crop. By the time the last berries were picked, I had made four cobblers and enough sorbet to feed 25 people, We had eaten the fresh berries in everything from cereal to salad and given away 2-3 gallons. Enjoy your own version of this berry sorbet, regardless of whether you are picking them of the vine or simply picking them out of the grocery freezer.
