Beginning again

As a new semester rolls around, it’s time to get back to basics.  If you are on your own for the first time and intimidated by preparing all of your own food, relax!  Or “chillax,” as my office-mate says.  The hard stuff is already done for you: deciding what to cook, calculating ingredients, making a shopping list.  Yup, done.  Bada bing, bada boom.

  • Week One: Menu List  (what you’ll be cooking)
  • Week One: Shopping List (everything you need for one week for four people);
  • COST: about $40-50 per person or $160-200 total, if you shop an inexpensive grocery mart like Fiesta, Food-A-Rama or HEB.  Increase your grocery expense 30-40% if you are shopping at HEB’s Central Market, Whole Foods, Randall’s or Kroger.
