Week 18 is a vegetarian week, best for the first week of the year or whenever you are wanting a week of eating light and healthy without a lot of cooking. Shopping on January 2, 2012 for 4 people, these groceries cost $125.73 at Food-a-Rama.

- 1 loaf sliced bread (white or wheat)
- 1 package (20) flour tortillas
Dairy
- 1 large container Greek-style yogurt, or 1 multi-pack yogurt cups, for breakfast (minimum 6 servings)
- 1 gallon milk (whole, 2%, 1%, skim, or soy)
- 8 oz or more block cheddar cheese to eat with apples or crackers
- 8 oz shredded cheddar cheese (for quesadillas and sprinkle over baked potatoes)
- 12 eggs
Cereal & Condiments
- 1 jar peanut butter (creamy or crunchy)
- 1 jar jam or preserves (grape, strawberry, or apricot)
- 1 box cereal (Frosted Mini Wheats, Pops, Apple Jacks, or granola)
- 1 box granola
Dried Beans, Rice, & Baking Aisle
- 1 box Success brand boil-in-bag Rice
- 2 boxes Betty Crocker Supreme Brownie Mix with Hershey’s syrup
- 1 pound dried lima beans
- 1 pound dried kidney beans
