Cabbage Slaw

also known as Cole Slaw or Coleslaw.

Slaw is the term currently used to describe shredded vegetable salad; i.e. cabbage slaw, broccoli slaw, etc.  The “Cole” part is from the Dutch word used to describe cabbage salad (koolsla).

Salad Dressing

• 1/2 Cup Miracle Whip salad dressing
• 1 Tablespoon vinegar
• 1 teaspoon mustard powder (can use prepared mustard in a pinch)
• 2 Tablespoons sugar
• 1-2 Tablespoons milk

Salad

• 3 Cups finely shredded cabbage
• 1-2 grated carrots
• 1/2 apple, grated or shredded

Mix all the salad dressing ingredients well, with mixer or by shaking in a covered jar or container.  Toss the vegetables together and then add dressing.  Toss gently to mix dressing and vegetables. Cover and chill (to allow flavors to blend) for at least 1 hour before serving.
