This isn’t as much a recipe as a suggestion for eating light pasta, seasoned only with a little olive oil and fresh herbs. It is delicious as is, but you can also serve it as a side to broiled chicken or shrimp.
- 12-16 oz. whole wheat or regular spaghetti or angel hair pasta
- 1 Tablespoon fresh basil, cut into small pieces
- 1 clove freshly diced garlic
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon (a dash) of black pepper
Cook the spaghetti by bringing 6 cups of water to boil in a very large soup pot. Add the dry spaghetti to the boiling water and cook on high for 7 minutes. Drain and add in all the other ingredients, tossing to mix while the pasta is still hot.
Enjoy!
