- 1 family size roast (but it needs to fit in your crockpot!)
- 1-2 slivers garlic
- 1 Tablespoon salt (approximately)
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper (approximately)
- 1/2 package Lipton Onion Soup mix
- 2-3 cups water
Rub the roast all over with salt and pepper. Cut small slices into center portions of roast with a sharp knife and push slivers of garlic well inside.
Brown on all sides in a non-stick skillet. Place the roast in large crock pot and shake 1/2 packet of soup mix over the roast. Pour in 2-3 cups water and cover with lid. Cook on low heat all day long.
The more water you use, the more juice you have for gravy. If you aren’t making gravy, use only 2 cups of water for a moist and delicious roast.
You may also add carrots, potatoes, and celery, cut into bite size pieces. For working moms and dads, this is an easy dish for busy days.
