Just cheat on this one, it’s the most consistent way to get good has browns.
- 1 cup frozen hash brown potatoes (shredded or cut in small chunks)
- 2 Tablespoons oil
- 1 medium to large non-stick skillet
Heat the oil on high for 45 seconds. Add the frozen potatoes in an thin layer on the bottom of the pan. Fry for 3-4 minutes. Slide a pancake turner under the edge of the patty of hash brown potatoes. Attempt to lift the whole patty. If it appears to bend or break, cook for 2 more minutes on that side and try again. Repeat cooking and checking every 2 minutes until you can lift the entire layer of hash browns with a pancake turner, flip the patty over and cook the other side 2-3 more minutes.
