At the end of this week, you will have been cooking on your own for two months. Congratulations! Just remember, you are still balancing school or work schedules (or both!) with your culinary accomplishments, so don’t tackle complex dishes on a weeknight (Sunday night through Thursday night). Even at age 51, I still reserve the dishes that take a lot of chopping or preparation time for Friday night through Sunday afternoon. The main reason I don’t tackle complex meals on Sunday evenings is the clean up time required. I like to have wrapped up all my “chores” by 7pm on Sunday night so I can relax with a movie or good book, or add new menus and recipes to the Wiess Cooks! blog. And don’t go grocery shopping without your Week Eight Shopping List.
